Six sites and a reputation among fly fishermen make Lava Flow one of the smaller, more consistently occupied campgrounds in Deschutes National Forest. The camp sits near a lake in open terrain, with toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings on-site. RVs up to 40 feet can drive in, and pets are welcome. Early mornings bring anglers to the parking area, so expect activity before sunrise. Campers prioritizing lake access for kayaking or paddleboarding may find West Davis Lake a better fit for launching watercraft.
Description
At the northeast corner of Davis Lake , this site offers an unimproved boat ramp and opportunities for bird watching, fly-fishing, sightseeing, and access to the lava flow. Another section of this campground is open for a very short season--Sept. 1-Dec.31st.
