Awesome area, tons of hiking and linked to the PCT. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and make sure you have a spare tire. Nice lake but you cannot swim in it.
it's about 2 1/2 hrs into the three sister's wilderness area. going through estecada( if coming from Portland) is recommended for lower clearance cars. if you go via Mt. Hood you migjt want a taller adventure vehicle as the road gets rough.
once you reach the Olallie scenic area the road is unpaved but keep gollowing the road to camp tent.
fire pits and pit toilets that are well maintained. There are also cabins available and a "lodge" where you can buy some basic provisions.
If you are lucky, there are some amazing sites right along the lake. this is a perfect place to bring a canoe or kayak and fish day or night. This lake also offers a wonderful view of Mt. Jefferson!
