Primative camping galore

Love this place. Lots of primitive caming right off the road. Beautiful views. Great hikes. Definitely a personal favorite.

Lovely spot

This was an awesome place right at the trailhead. Quiet with pit toliet access ans so much beauty. Shallow, swimable lake for when youre done hiking. Love it here

Directions

From the west, go over Santiam Pass on U.S. 20. Just past Suttle Lake, take a hard left on Forest Road 12. Continue straight through the 4-way crossroads and veer right directly after that, continuing on FR 12. In 3.3 miles, continue straight on FR 1230. Half a mile later, at a large intersection near Jack Creek Campground, continue straight on FR 1234, following signs for Jack Lake. The trailhead is 7 miles further on; at some point, the road turns to dirt/gravel, but it's fairly wide and easily doable in any car.
