Located near Jack Lake the Jack Lake Campground/Trailhead offers two tent only sites with a vault toilets, horse facilities and horse/hiker access to Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area via the Summit Lake Trail #4014. Northwest Forest Pass required - self pay station available.

Directions
From the west, go over Santiam Pass on U.S. 20. Just past Suttle Lake, take a hard left on Forest Road 12. Continue straight through the 4-way crossroads and veer right directly after that, continuing on FR 12. In 3.3 miles, continue straight on FR 1230. Half a mile later, at a large intersection near Jack Creek Campground, continue straight on FR 1234, following signs for Jack Lake. The trailhead is 7 miles further on; at some point, the road turns to dirt/gravel, but it's fairly wide and easily doable in any car.
