Weekend Trip

Exceeded expectations! The park and camp grounds were clean and quiet. We will absolutely be back. The salt flats are incredible!

Nice layout & beautiful trails

I stayed at Camp White Tail. I thought this was a great placement. The grounds had a short (6 minute walk) trail head that made a loop that spit you back on the camp ground.

The only thing that irritated me to the point I was cussing out loud for all the wildlife to hear, was the maps were…

Great campground

We’ve stayed there twice. Clean and relatively quiet depending on amount of campsites filled. Nice pool.

Boiling Springs

We tent camped here for the second time in March. They have 12 tent sites, RV sites and cabins. One of the things I like about this campground is that the bathrooms stay pretty clean. The playgrounds are new and there are plenty of hiking trails. There is a lot of standing water nearby so bring bug…

Peaceful in the off season

We only spent one night, but enjoyed the hiking trail and viewing the spring. A nice respite for weary travelers. Saw some mule deer wandering through in the morning.

Best Oklahoma day-trip

Roman nose has all the amenities you could ask for: cabins, swimming pool, general store, paddle boats, mini golf, picnic spots, fishing, interesting trails, etc etc. but nothing and I mean NOTHING beats the cold and clear fresh water springs on the hot +100 degree days we get!

I recommend…

Oasis in the Plains

Roman Nose is a popular State Park with many activities to keep you entertained & beautiful scenery. We stayed at RV Site #39 at Two Lakes & enjoyed our stay. It was a clean site with full hookups, picnic table, fire pit and spaced well from the other sites. Traffic was heavy because of the…

A nice, northern OK spot.

My wife, our dog and I went up for a few days in the Spring of 2018. Was a nice location and some really pretty scenery. Not to mention some nice trails. Highly recommend with the great staff they have, and places to explore.

Camping Above the River

Very pretty park with lots of trees in the campground, birdwatching and fishing! Family and group friendly. Sweet little wildwood chapel and nice trails. It's a popular park, well kept and friendly. Paved RV sites with water and electric, some a little too close together. Reservations must…

Small and Quite

Stayed here for a couple of days while traveling to Colorado with friends. The caverns where very interesting as well as the trails around the campground. You could see alabaster everywhere, beautifully exposed. The area appears to be a Dark Sky Area with little artificial light, so the night sky…

So much fun

You can’t camp at the actual Salt Plains. We spent the day here and had such an awesome time. I took kids ages 3-12 and they all had a blast. Make sure to bring metal shovels and metal hand shovels bc the plastic ones will break, you will want sand buckets, egg cartons to put the crystals in bc…

Nice little getaway

We came here for the Labor Day weekend and it did not disappoint. Not a “thrills a minute” park. However, if you enjoy hiking, biking, relaxing or small lake fishing this is the place. We stayed in the full hook up section in the White Tail portion of the park. Bathrooms and showers very clean.…

A great gateway to adventures

The camping at Great Salt Plains State park is a fine place to park the camper and stay, but most of the adventure is elsewhere in the park/refuge. You'll need to drive to get to almost everything.

We stayed at the Sandy Beach Campground. This review is for that campground. If I had to do it…

Fun time but lost a lot of golf balls!

We enjoyed a fun weekend at Roman Nose State Park. There’s a lot of history there with many activities available. We had a fun round of golf on a difficult course.
