Great Arkansas Park

A little crooked roads get down to the park , we decided to use the 170 hwy. entrance to get in. Not as bad. but what a beautiful place , way down in a valley with Lee creek running though it , the rv sites we pretty much level, with lots of room. The staff at the the park were very nice and…

Peace and solitude with a safety net.

One of the best experiences I've had camping. The recreation area is breathtakingly beautiful as a whole, with a trail circling the top of the mountain and several trailheads both within the recreation area and off the roads nearby.

Check-in is simple, with a quick pop into the General Store,…

Primitive and Perfect

We enjoyed camping here. Things were a little chaotic because we were there during the Byrdfest Music Festival, but the campground was just what we were hoping for.

Be forewarned

First, the actual campground is not easy to find. Don't go to the park office where the GPS wants you to go, the campground is further down the road. Then there is a sign at the entrance that you must make a reservation online. Confirmed by the "host" at the entrance. The website is not super easy…

Love this place

I’ve camped here almost my entire life. It’s always quiet and peaceful, very relaxing. The upkeep has fell off in the last few years and I hope they can fix that! Flush toilets and good showers make it worth coming back every year.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Depends on what you want or need in life. The spot can be the ultimate in life or the depths of despair. I believe I see something middle of the road. A pit toilet. Boat launch. Picnic table. Fire ring. No electric. No cell. Right on the water. One family has held their family gathering every year…

Empty and great

Arrived on a Tuesday evening for an over night, empty except for the camp host. The site was excellent, a few bits of trash left by previous visitors. Found a good site next to the lake. Really quite. Of note there are signs stating the road is closed, this only happens after the campground…

Small site

Used the direction provided by this app and Google maps. If this is the site it's small. Could possibly get 3 small pickup trucks side by side in this spot. if you don't need a big area then this would be a nice place.
