Gilboa Quarry RV Park & Campground

Overview

Gilboa Quarry RV Park & Campground is a privately operated campground located at 3763 Old State Route 224 in Ottawa, Ohio — just off I-75, roughly 10 minutes from Ottawa and 20 minutes from Findlay. The property is built around a spring-fed former limestone quarry that has served as the Midwest's premier freshwater SCUBA diving, freediving, and snorkeling destination since 1990. It is owned by Full Tank LLC (since April 2021) and welcomes divers, paddlers, and campers alike.

Facilities

RV sites are back-in only and offered in three tiers: RV Park Sites with full water and electric hookups (50-amp, 30-amp, and 110-volt), and Premium/Standard Sites with electric hookups and on-site well water access for tank filling. A dump station is on-site and included in the overnight camping fee. The 24/7-access bathhouse includes hot showers, changing rooms, and flushable toilets. Tent campsites include a fire ring and are pet-friendly. A bunkhouse is available for budget stays or group bookings. An on-site convenience store sells firewood, ice, and camping supplies, and a seasonal food truck ('Gilboa Grindz') operates on-site on weekends.

Recreation

The quarry offers a designated swimming beach, kayak and paddleboard rentals (first-come, first-served), snorkeling, SCUBA and freediving (certified divers only), and wildlife watching. Aquatic life includes paddlefish, sturgeon, and trout. Underwater attractions include a submerged Grumman airplane, Sikorsky helicopter, school bus, and other structures at depths ranging from 60 to 140 feet.
