Dam Renovation Project 2026-2028 : Cowan Lake dam rehabilitation begins with an early drawdown starting November 1, 2027. Water levels will be lowered 13.5 feet in preparation for construction in early 2027 through spring 2028. Boating and fishing access will be affected. Target is to have water levels restored is Summer 2028. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve Cowan Lake State Park.
