Like dispersed camping but with bathrooms

Site was clean and well maintained. Campground offered pull through, pull off and back in Sites.

Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained.

Wildlife is everywhere. We were fortune to witness Bison walking through our site in the very early hours of the morning. Wild horses also…

Good base site with a few views

Came in as the sun began to set and it had great views driving into Medora. Half of the sites are equestrian half standard rv with power only, remaining few are tent style that are off a little from the rest. Great space between sites. Showers require quarters :) Bathrooms are a little more rustic…

  • Our setup. it was interesting to set up at night in the dark. :)
  • I had to zoom in for this pic of neighbors site
  • Sites are definitely spaced out

Exploring the NP and surrounding area

I stayed three nights and explored the south unit of the park and the small town of Medora. The campground is well maintained. I saw bison, prairie dogs, and wild horses. I would not recommend the site I was in only because the light from the bathroom shone right over it ! Site 48. Otherwise a…

Great spot

I spent three nights at the juniper campground and explored the north unit of the park. The scenic drive is amazing and saw lots of bison. The campground is quiet and well maintained. There is water available and a free rv dump. The bathrooms were super clean and the camp host was friendly.

  • Bison Jam!
  • the hammock is not allowed! i had to take it down!

Perfect spot!

Really loved this campground! It was not full so it was easy to find an open spot on a first come first serve basis. I'd say half the sites were open. Very close to TRNP which is why we picked it. The shower rooms were also heated which was very nice. Camp host was friendly. Can't ask for much more…

Full hookups w/ ants and weeds

The full hookups were nice since the temps were in the upper 90s. The price was good and there were spots available fairly last minute. Close to Theodore Roosevelt NP. There are no showers, bathrooms, or office, so you should be self-contained. Figuring out where to situate your rig is tricky due…

Beautiful campground but close to 1-94

This campground is small, beautiful, well-maintained, and convenient to TRNP. We are tent campers. There are two small loops. There are two shower rooms in the Mandan loop (appears to be the RV loop) - one requires quarters and one does not and they are side-by-side). Water is hot. Flush toilets…

Good for stop over

Good location, pretty. Sites are small, tight and un-level. Close to Theodore Roosevelt NP. Good cell reception. Good for stop over only. Site 2 gives you room to park and put chairs out, some of the others are so close you can almost touch your neighbor standing in your door!

Great views!

I was confused on where this was because the GPS coordinates were wrong on another app. These are the coordinates for an amazing tent spot: (46.9411728, -103.5856874) Do not go past the second cattle guards! If you have, you’ve gone to far!

Also, just enough people here to make me comfortable,…

Bison Walked Right Behind Our Site

We stayed at Cottonwood for two nights and loved it. We were ultimately headed to MT, so two nights here tent camping for us was perfect. Overall, the grounds are pretty quiet and very clean with plenty of water and flush toilets. There are no showers here which didn’t bother us one bit. Campfires…

Beautiful sunset!

Campground was nice for a “rustic” tent site. They had flush toilets that were well maintained. We got to the park around 2pm on a Thursday in July and there were at least 20 FCFS sites left! We had a great view of the River and beautiful sunsets!

Location, location, location

If you are attending the Medora Musical, this is perfect! It is not far off the highway, so it is quick to get set up and then get going for your next day. When I got here around noon, it was just me. Two other people set up through the day. There was plenty of room and it was still very peaceful.…
