Where the waters of Kerr Lake meet the North Carolina shoreline, Hibernia State Recreation Area provides dispersed camping managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Campers access sites by boat, on foot, or via short walks from parking areas, with no pets permitted throughout the recreation area.
The facility includes drinking water, restrooms with showers, and a dump station, all designed with ADA accessibility. Big rigs can navigate the area, and cell service reaches most locations. Hibernia Campground — Kerr Lake State Recreation Area sits just half a mile southwest, offering additional lakeside options for extended stays.
