Costco — Apex

Just off Highway 55 in Apex, this Costco parking lot provides overnight parking for RVers and travelers passing through the Triangle area. The location sits in a commercial strip with standard big-box store access and lighting throughout the night. Campers can access restrooms and food options during store hours, though facilities close in the evening.

The asphalt surface accommodates larger rigs, and the site connects easily to major routes heading toward Raleigh or further south. For those planning extended stays in the region, campgrounds outside Cary offer more traditional camping amenities. This spot works well as a convenient overnight stop rather than a destination stay.

A Quick Stop, Not a Quiet Night

If you're looking for a quick place to regroup after a long day on the road, the Costco in Apex certainly checks a lot of boxes with affordable fuel, a well-stocked warehouse, food court and every travel essential you could imagine. But as an overnight stop, this isn't one I'd recommend. This is one of the busiest Costco locations in North Carolina, and overnight parking can be accommodated here, but you'll question this decision. Between the constant traffic, crowded parking lot and store policy, you're much better off stocking up on supplies, filling the tank and continuing on to a nearby campground or another overnight-friendly location. The one silver lining here is that you can accomplish nearly every errand on your road trip in a single stop before getting back on the highway. Sometimes the best overnight stop is the one that helps you get ready for tomorrow's adventure rather than trying to become that night's destination, right? Families traveling through the Raleigh area will appreciate the convenience, but I wouldn't plan on spending the night here.
