The Family Campground remains closed for renovation until further notice.
**Umstead State Park's Family Campground remains closed for a major renovation project throughout 2024. The renovated campground will have a new bathhouse and significant improvements to the campsites. We plan to reopen in summer 2025.**
Holiday booking date rules are as follows: 2 nights Minimum Stay on holiday weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) 2 nights Minimum Stay still apply to cabin rentals at Hanging Rock and Morrow Mountain State Parks 1 night Minimum Stay on holiday weekend if the booking dates within 7 Days before Arrival Date Rule applies to the following holiday weekends: Memorial Day July 4th Labor Day
November - February: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. March, April, September, October: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. May - August: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. All trails open unless specified on website.

Our sites are meant for tent/pop-up camping only. No RV or Trailer is accessible.
The front gate is closed and locked at posted closing times for your protection. There will be no exiting or entering the gate after this time and the combination will NOT be given out. All visitors not spending the night will need to be out by closing time. If you leave the park and do not return before closing time, you will not be able to re-enter. If you have an emergency, see camp host. Please notify camp hosts for emergencies only.

Directions
The Crabtree Creek section is located 10 miles northwest of Raleigh off US 70. The park visitors center and camping facilities are located in this section. From I-40, turn northeast on I-540 and take the US 70 exit. Travel southeast on US 70, and turn right on Umstead Parkway, which leads to Visitors center. After entering the park, turn right onto Campground Road.
