SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Waterfall chasers and trail hikers use Ash Grove as a base for exploring the dense network of falls and footpaths around Brevard, North Carolina. The campground sits within Pisgah National Forest and draws repeat visitors who return specifically for its mulched, level tent sites and hands-on ownership. Sites are scattered along narrow shaded trails, and the owners provide wheelbarrows so campers can haul gear in without multiple trips. A small waterfall on the property is worth tracking down on foot.

The owners live on-site and stay closely involved in day-to-day operations, which shows in the upkeep. The bathhouse earns consistent praise for cleanliness, and hot showers are available. Cam M. sums up the setup as "tent camping comfort with mulched level sites...clean restrooms, hot shower." Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections make it workable for RVs as well, and WiFi is available on-site. One practical note: at least one site involves a tight, single-lane road with a sharp turn, and the camp hosts have helped guide drivers through it.

Nearby, Pisgah National Forest Cove Creek Group Campground sits just 0.1 miles west for groups needing more space. The town of Brevard, known locally for its white squirrel population and access to Sliding Rock, is a short drive away. Reservations are available and pets are welcome. Plan for at least a few days if waterfalls are the draw.

Best campground yet

Hosts were super friendly and the campground was incredibly taken care of. We stayed at the techno site with a tent and were able to set it up on a fresh pad of mulch so we didn’t have to sleep on the gravel. The bath house was super clean and tidy. The campground was close to many hiking areas and some great restaurants in town. So far the best campground we’ve been too. 10/10 would recommend.

Perfect

We have stayed here a total of 3 times, twice with out tent and once with our squaredrop. The Bluet site is our favorite, it's close to the bathroom but also feels very private. There is a small waterfall on the property which is worth the hike.

The surrounding area is slap full of things to do. Make sure to keep an eye out for white squirrels while in town. If there is the summer be sure to check out Sliding Rock, it is so refreshing on a warm summers day.

The owners of the campground are absolutely amazing and very hands on with everything.

unique primitive camping

I enjoyed Ash Grove, the sites are scattered across a series of narrow shaded trails that you have to hike your things to. Thankfully the owners provide wheelbarrels so you can transport items to your site this way. The campground is close to a lot of the trails and waterfalls around Brevard. I would stay again.

Adequate for a short outing

I wanted to camp in the Brevard area for a waterfall weekend.  I found this online and booked it as Davidson was booked.  Easy to find. Camp hosts very gracious providing good directions and things to do.   My concern dealt with the site itself.   A narrow one lane road with an extreme turn to get into the site.  If the host was not there to guide us I am not sure how many times circling around it would have taken to get parked.   The picnic table took up the majority of the open area.  Not much room for anything else.    The Brevard area is beautiful.  So much to do.   We did not get to see all the waterfalls I wanted in a short weekend.  So if you come to the area definitely plan at least 4-5 days.   An interesting fact of this area is it is known for white squirrels.  Hundreds exist around Brevard College to enjoy.
