Within Stoney Pond State Forest, this Department of Environmental Conservation campground provides free camping along the south shore of Stoney Pond. The facility features 15 drive-in sites spaced throughout the woods, plus two walk-in sites on the west shore. Site 1 offers flat, open terrain suitable for trailers or camper vans, while other sites work better for tent camping with varying terrain conditions.
The campground includes recently constructed accessible outhouses, though gravel roads may challenge wheelchair users. A small boat launch accommodates canoes, kayaks, and non-motorized fishing boats, with a gravel peninsula for shore fishing. Mature shade trees surround the pond, and a trailhead connects to the forest's extensive hiking network. Dispersed backcountry camping is permitted throughout the forest for backpackers. Campgrounds around Morrisville serve campers exploring the broader region.
