Tucked inside a small canyon on BLM land in north-central New Mexico, this spot sits among striped grey-and-white rock formations with enough depth into the terrain to muffle road noise entirely. The access track requires high clearance but not four-wheel drive — a 2WD Sprinter has made it through — though the surface becomes impassable when wet, and flash-flood evidence in the canyon floor makes rain forecasts worth watching closely. Multiple open areas give campers room to spread out, and a gated entrance off the road keeps the site feeling genuinely removed from passing traffic.
