Cathey Peak Dispersed — Lincoln NF (FR 5011)

Description

Deep in the evergreen forest of Lincoln National Forest near the Sacramento Mountains rim, this clearing sits just east of Cathey Peak at nearly 9,500 feet elevation, with multiple established fire rings and tree cover overhead. Access is off the Sunspot Highway (NM 6563) via the Cathey Canyon Vista pullout — the packed-rock track is manageable for most vehicles, though high-clearance is a safer bet in wet or snowy conditions. The Rim Trail is within reach on foot, and cell signal is solid here.
