Sitting beside a small lake in eastern Nebraska's Saunders County, Red Cedar Lake is managed by the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District and carries no overnight fee. Parking is on gravel with no poured slabs, so RVs may fit but should expect an uneven surface. Amenities are minimal: pit toilets on site, campfires allowed, pets welcome, and trash service provided. No established hiking trails exist, though deer trails run through the area. Anglers have reported good fishing, and the lake draws consistent wildlife activity. Timber Point Wetland is another NRD-managed site in the area for those building a multi-stop itinerary. The campground works best for self-sufficient campers who want free, road-accessible water access with few crowds.
