Martin's Reach Wildlife Management Area in Nebraska offers a landscape of open fields and scattered trees. Temperatures range from lows around 20°F in winter to highs near 90°F in summer. Nearby, the Platte River provides opportunities for fishing and birdwatching, while the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center offers educational exhibits about local wildlife.

Description

Nebraska Game and Parks

Includes 80 heavily wooded acres and 10 acres of pastureland with about 0.7 of a mile of river frontage on the Platte’s main channel. A slough runs through the center of it providing nesting habitat for blue-winged teal, green heron, and wood duck. As many as 88 species of birds have been recorded here in a single spring day. A small slough runs through this heavily wooded site which has adjoining privately owned lakes on both the east and west ends.
