Macklin Bay Campground sits along the shore of Swanson Reservoir in Trenton, Nebraska, with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer), showers, toilets, and a dump station on site. Sites run $30 per night and reservations are available. Fishing and swimming access to the reservoir make it a functional base for water-based activities. Nearby, Swanson Reservoir SRA Beach Camping (Trail 3) provides a more primitive alternative within the same recreation area. Description
Swanson Reservoir State Recreation Area is the largest of four recreation areas in the southwest part of the state. Located near Trenton, Swanson consists of a 4,974 acre lake and 3,957 acres of land. The area offers fishing, boating, camping, concessions and hunting in season among other activities.
Park entry permit required on all vehicles. No livestock allowed. All pets must be on a leash no longer than 6'. No golf carts/ATV's.
