Spruce Park - Clean, organized

Spruce RV Park is a great base camp for the numerous outdoor opportunities of the area. Glacier National Park being #1

Check in and reservation system was easy. Gal at front desk was extremely polite. The RV park is very well maintained, clean and organized. Bathroom and shower facility well kept. Appears most sites have full hookup options. Water pressure is very good.

Packed and well kept

Tent sites are strange but it works. River access is right there for you and great view of the Bob Marshall mountain range.

Beautiful views

Enjoyed our time by the river with great views of the mountains. Managers were super nice and got us some extra days. Shower rooms were clean and well kept. Older park where some sites are a bit tight with trees, but so much nicer than a parking lot campground! Would come back.

Rules, overpass noise and non-helpful staff

I was very disappointed upon arrival due to the proximity of our site to the highway and overpass. It was a damper on our entire trip. It was noisy and tenters next to us left early in the morning due to the sound pollution.

The campground had all sorts of rules posted around the campground and we were provided with a 3 page rule book upon arrival that explained if you broke any rules you were asked to leave and forfeited your entire payment. I will post pictures of the “rules” some of which were understandable, but others posted were ridiculous- such as “no children under 12 can use the restroom without adult supervision.”

Many of the sites do not have fire rings and the staff was unhelpful when asked about this. We stayed for 5 nights and we’re extremely bummed by this we were told you are SOL.

Overall, I would avoid and choose something closer to glacier. We drove one hour most days we wanted to visit/hike.

Best, cleanest, beautiful!

great campground for RV getaway! On the Flathead river, fishing, floating, boating. Sunsets, hot air balloons, massage on rivers edge (covid free). Staff is fabulous.

Nice, for Kalispell

Spruce Park on the River is currently only for RV (due to covid). It is very clean, family-friendly and kid oriented. Host even planned a Scavenger hunt with treats! Plenty of paved, safe, bike riding areas. Many, many seasonal campers. River view is scarce from most spots, due to berms, but still accessible. Some highway traffic noise. Spots are close, but plenty of grass space. Not all have fire pits, so if that is important, be sure to ask. Big unfenced dog playground. Friendly and helpful staff. Truly, the nicest hosts we have come across.

Fantastic spot

Arrived believing I’d be staying for only one night however the scenery was amazing and the owners were really easy to work with. I stayed for almost a week camping along the river. Was able to climb down the embankment and swim down to where it leveled off. This was during Covid so the rest rooms were closed. I also enjoyed plunking my chair into the river to take in the amazing scenery and cool off. Tubing down the Columbia, seeing hot air balloons, watching the deer & eagles and just relaxing with the sound of the crystal clear river flowing was very rejuvenating!

Stupendous River Views

While this is a typical RV park in many ways, the tent sites are given a FRONT ROW location along the river. The host did say they weren’t going to have tent camping for at least until August of 2020 due to a lack of COVID supply availability. Still, there’s a lot of fantastic space to explore, lots of tall trees AND... hot air balloons take off from here. I kid you not. What could be better than being in a balloon floating over Montana during the summer?

Fair park on the river.

We stayed at this park on July 22, 2018 for 3 days.

This park sits right on the river on the outskirts of Kalispell, MT.  Of the eight parks we stayed at during this trip, it was everyone's least favorite.   As we arrived after 5pm, the office was closed and we picked up our packet from the office door. There were 3 pages of rules and regulations on everything you can imagine from restrooms to hammocks.  There is free wifi but passwords are required for each device and it's very slow, even for simple tasks as email.

There are two types of sites, ones with full hookups (water/electric/sewer) and those they claim are full hookup with only water/electric. They charge the same price for either one.

The bathrooms require passcodes and only cleaned every other day. This is a problem with over 100 RVs with many more total people using them. The women's bathroom toilet/shower had a sewage issue and the bathroom was closed for over 12 hours.

Several of the large RVs have been in the park for months (I'm told they arrive in April and stay until fall). When they stay that long, the areas around the RVs tend to be cluttered with 'stuff'.

The store is large but has almost nothing. You're better off going 1.7miles down the road to the 24 hour market which is great.

The river flowed right past our campsite but is not accessible due to the berm/embankment which is designed to keep the camp from flooding when water levels rise. The only close way to the water is about 1/4 mile towards the highway bridge where there is a boat launch.
