    Good stop over

Nice campground with clean bathrooms. Nice shady sites on rock creek but close together , also more open sites up higher near road.

    Avoid like the plague

In short the campground had a bear owners knew about, but didn’t inform the people booking. 3 year old child gets attacked & all campers immediately evacuated. Campground doesn’t reimburse the patrons as promised. Greedy low life’s.

Easy in and out with great amenities

Got on around 7pm and the office was closed. Easy night procedures. Still able to access the mini golf and pool. Kids had a blast with both and the playground. Nice full hook up back in spot. A little pricey for a quick turn but nice neighbors and great amenities. Just wish campground were open later.

    More of an RV park

Tent camping here is not very private. You basically pitch a tent in the middle of a bunch of RVs with very little tree cover. Also, we were in T1 and near the bathrooms which made it so people would cut through our campsite often.

That being said all the facilities are very nice and the staff as well.

Tent campers beware but not that ware.

    Nice campground

This camground was fairly quiet. Close to town. Only issue with this campground is how they have sites marked. Took a little bit to figure out the site markers for tent camping. They have little concrete circles on the ground with numbers. After we figured that out it was easy to get set up and paid.

A needed stop over from the rain

The host was super accommodating. It was raining and she recommended the “cabin” so we were sheltered. The cabin had two cots in it. So used our sleeping bag and pads. Showers were hot. Cleaning drinking water. Portapotty by the “cabin”. Short drive into the town, which is worth a visit! Very cute.

    Appears abandoned

We showed up for our overnight stay on our way out west and the campground appeared abandoned. We received an email confirmation several days before our arrival stating that we must check in on arrival but there was no place to do so. A different camper was in the site we had reserved and we tried all phone number we could find and no one answered at 5:02pm. We sent an email to the campground immediately and are waiting for a response. Thankfully, we found a different campground 70 miles away with availability.

Friendly folks. Nice scenery, especially at sunset. Full hook up year round, lots of full timers makes it a nice and quiet stay! Felt it was a bit on the pricey side at $65 a night! But is worth it to be in the comfort of your own home.

    1st KOA

This is the first KOA/ KOA Holiday. A bit pricey, I think, but you pay for the amenities like clean showers and bathrooms, swimming pool, putt-putt golf, one access to Yellowstone River. Staff is very friendly and polite. Standard sites are close to one another but there’s grass between the sites. Nice for our dogs. Many trees. No sewer in Standard sisters. There is a dump station.

Yellowstone River RV Park & Campground

Easy access of of the interstate

This park has very nice full hookups sites with trees and lawns, some tent only sites at the rear of the park, and several water & electric only sites that are very close together.

The park is in a quiet area with easy access on and off the interstate Highway in southeast Billings. The exit is he same one that leads to the road to downtown, the ball park, and the airport.

The property has a small, nice pool, a playground, a general store, laundry, dump station, and access to the Yellowstone River via a walking path.

Yellowstone River RV Park & Campground

    Clean and Quiet

Definitely caters more towards glamping or RV life if that's your thing. The campground was gorgeous and staff was incredibly friendly. The only reason I'm rating 4 stars is because it's a long trek to the river. I assumed from the name we'd be close enough to it to see water or hear it from our campground. The closest "river" is a completely dry bed which is probably an over flow channel and then it's another long trail through field and bramble to get to the actual river. Aside from that. Their are fire rings/grills at the camping sites w electric as well as access to amazing private bathrooms with insanely awesome water pressure and very clean surroundings

There are dry docking camp sites stuffed in the back of the Campground as well. We didn't get a chance to use the pool/spa but they looked really nice!

    Billings KOA

Not our typical campground but 5 stars nonetheless!

General: Upon arriving at this campground (the FIRST Holiday KOA), I felt like we were in Disneyland! Everything was spotlessly clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly and even though there were rain clouds in the sky, it felt sunny!

Site Quality/Facilities: There are a variety of sites ranging from tent to full hookup with concrete patio, swing, and upgraded picnic table with umbrella. We had reserved a water/electric site. The first site assigned to us had a huge puddle from the recent rain so I went back to the office and asked if we could switch to the one next to it and it was no problem to do so. Sites that back up to the river are, in my opinion, the nicest but they don’t have full hookups if that is what you need. Some of the tent sites will hear road noise. There is a restaurant on-site (Pistol Pete’s) that was not open when we were there (due to Covid) but there was a food truck where you could order breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, etc. We did not try this so cannot comment on the quality. Coin-operated laundry.

Bathhouse: As nice as, if not nicer than, our bathroom at home! The tiled showers were very clean (it helped that I snagged one just after it was cleaned) and had a bench, plenty of hooks, a sink, and a toilet in an all-in-one. The water pressure was a little meek but hot. Husband had a shower in the alternative trailer– nice and clean but not as fancy.

Activities: Pool, hot tub, nice playground, mini golf all on-site. Campground backs up to the Yellowstone River with direct access, although the river was very low when we were there.

This very family-friendly campground is not our typical place to camp but after a week without, we needed showers and electricity and it was a Friday night in August, so we are glad we made the reservation to stay here!

    Very nice shaded sites available

We were here just for a one night stopover but soon realized that this site would have been a really nice multi-day stay. Our site backed up to a small lake that is fed from the Yellowstone River which also runs along side the campground.

Yellowstone River RV Park & Campground

    Too pricey

There is little competition in the Billings area and  they increased the rent and eliminated weekly rates.  This is the most expensive campground we had in our year of full time RVing.  There are advantages in that it is very convient if you have business in Billings and there is plently of room for big rigs.  However, they put us in a site that was narrow and had a nearby tree so we could not put our awning out.  The park is pretty with lots of tall trees and the hike to the river is very nice.  But the price is just too high.

    NOW OPEN

This park was closed but it is now open.  We are here in a motorhome.  There mat have been water and electic hookips previously, but I believe that all sites are dry camping.  There are several very long pull throughs.  Park is nice and green at this time of year.    They have obviously been improving the grounds.  No picnic tables but there are fire pits.  Park is on the river.  There is a boat ramp.  Scenery is marred a bit by an oil refinery nearby but overall it is very nice.  We are in site #PT2 at $20 per night.

    Billings KOA

No refunds, even in severe weather.

We have a reservation for the Billings KOA for tomorrow night, and really wanted to be able to visit and stay there. But there is a severe wind advisory for most of Wyoming tomorrow and so we cannot safely travel with our camper across the state to get to Billings. The Billings KOA was not sympathetic and not at all caring or kind. They just keep stating policy that we lose all our $, since the cancelation is less than 48 hours. It has taught us the lesson to avoid KOAs and this campground in particular. A different campground for tonight was kind and issued a refund. But not the Billings KOA. So unless you have the powers to change the weather, I recommend avoiding this campground and KOA.

    Clean and Friendly Park

We stayed 3 nights and worked from the RV while there. Very quiet park. The staff were all friendly, gave us a late check out with no problem. Pretty nature walk down to the river. We are newbies to RV life but overall we had no complaints.

    It’s a KOA…

This is a noisy place to stay! I was in a tent and thought it was overpriced. The tent sites were just a corner of grass on the edge of the site. Lots of noise from RVs and the interstate nearby. However, it was clean and well maintained.

    Castle Rock

Quaint spot by the Stillwater River

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend so it was FULL. But (most) of the spots are large and spacious so it doesn’t feel crowded. There are snakes by the river (lots of rocks) and no cell service for MILES in any direction. Quiet, nice fishing access, nice spot for rock hounding too. “Boat ramp” is unusable IMO tho.

    Nice for a KOA

Really nice KOA. You have road noise but it is really hard to tell you are in the middle of Billings. Great for overnight traveling but if you prefer nature and quite...not that kind of place.
