This KOA is clean with wonderful parks and a nice pool. It was a great place to stay while driving to our destination. The bonus and downfall was a train track that was close to the campground. We would still stay here again.

Clean KOA that is family friendly

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The campsites were gravel and unlevel. WiFi and cell service were good. Bathrooms were clean. The kids enjoyed the pizza they make here and they will deliver it to your campsite when ready. I did wake up several times in the night to the sound of trains or planes passing by. The train tracks are right next to the campground. Nice place to stay.

This campground was FULL all weekend! The staff was great! The mini donuts they delivered to your site in the morning hit the spot! No road noise........ but there is a train! The only downside was that we had to pull ahead in our site to get satellite signal. So we had to back up to dump. We were only there for two nights so it wasn't a HUGE hassle!

Clean and easy to get to

Thanks to “The Dyrt” for helping us find this.  Very nice.  Clean, shaded spots, super nice people, several places for doggies to run.  Would highly recommend 

Awesome spot

Great camp grounds, staff was very professional and very friendly. Close to Springfield right off the highway, real close to where we needed. Has everything you could possibly need in a camp grounds. Heading back next month for sure when Daughter in Law has our 2nd Grand child.

Campsites are very clean but not a lot of space between.

Facilities are overall very well maintained.

Staff was super friendly with the exception of two. There are two employees that have no business working in any sort of hospitality. Extremely rude to my kids, my wife and I.

Would be an easy 5-star if not for the two rude employees.

Very Clean / Some Employees Unfit

Of all the KOAs I have visited I was very eager to check out this one.  Close to Springfield and not to far from the turn off to Wilson Creek Battlefield this one just kinda made sense for a visit.  

  

When I ventured to check it out I quickly noticed that the site spacing was not the best when it came to the RVs, it looked claustrophobic.   When it came to the tent sites I felt a bit more like I could breathe and stretch out.   Kind of strange that this was the case as usually the RV section at a KOA is more accommodating, in my own personal experiences.   

  

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the overall amenities were pretty inclusive.   Some of course obvious upgrades coming at additional charges while others were standard.

  

In true KOA fashion there is WIFI, which I personally always welcome because I work remotely and sometimes do not have the best of signal.    Additionally they had standard features such as a dog park area, playground for the kiddos and a pool, although the pool is not open year round like some.   

  

A few things that were a bit less common however, they had a pet play room which was pretty cool and though I don't travel with my pets found it to be a very friendly touch.    I also noticed that in addition to snacks you could pick up in the store they also had pizza during certain times if you were not wanting to use your own kitchen or the common space camp kitchens.

  

I was pretty impressed overall but with all the good there were those claustrophobic rv sites I just couldn't get past and the pricing of a KOA always hurts the pockets a bit more even with them being nice and the common kitchen area I was attempting to use and had a few issues, this could have been just when I was visiting so I don't want to completely hold that against them but it was having issued.

  

TIPS:

\* Visit Wilson's Creek Battlefield to explore, learn and hike.  When you come to this KOA it obviously does not have any hiking, but the battlefield offers a lengthy system of trails .\* Bass Pro's home is Springfield, MO so you will not only find the largest Bass Pro there but also a unique museum of all animals which is quite spectacular.

Great Service But Smaller Sites

Because you’re going to see and hear a lot of them, as there is a train track very close to the site. 

This campground itself was nice. The staff was so extremely friendly. The trees are old and tall, creating a canopy over the sites, so even with the weather cresting 95°, the site felt nice. 

I brought my travel trailer and stayed on lot 28. It was a KOA Patio site (a cement patio area with a table, chairs, and fire pit) that had city water, sewer, and electric. The lot was well cared for and my spot was incredibly flat/level. It’s always a nice feeling to pull in and set up with minimal effort. 

The pool is small, but just a short walk from any site on the grounds. The clubhouse/store is well stoked if you forgot anything, or if you decide you need another six pack. 

As another review mentioned, you can order pizza. The hours are reasonable. You can also order fresh made mini donuts in the morning. I nice treat for the family or with coffee on your way out! 

If it wasn’t for the trains coming by blowing their horns, this would easily be a favorite spot. 

Do you like trains?

Traveling across country this was a good stop for the night. Just bring earplugs because the trains going by are loud. Pull through spot was level so we didn’t have to unhook our travel trailer. Lots of shady spots and easy access off the highway. Took the pups to a small enclosed run to stretch their legs before the next day of travel.

Good 4 over knight. We got the glamping tent. There was a lot of cats hanging around. And a train every couple hours but we did enjoy it

$60 a night but they provided patio future which is very nice. Nice big pull thru sites but little room in between campers. Like 6 or 8 feet lots of kids than run through your campsite. Definitely better for families. Also not against the campground but the train is 100 from the entrance and it comes by at least 8 times a day and in the middle of the night horn blaring. 

More pricey than your average campground 

We stayed here a few nights in August 2020 they are very friendly and they have a nice pool, their is are trains going by but we live by some train tracks. It's great place to stay while in Springfield, we'll go their again soon...

While the park is nice and we’ll maintained the noise from train tracks and the airport will not allow for piece full relaxation or sleep at night.

KOA campsite is good

Perfectly nice place, very friendly staff, and really not much to complain about. The wifi signal was very weak in the tent sites, but useable. There is a train that goes by occasionally, but didnt bother me. Nice little fenced dog runs, was a cute touch. But at the end of the day it is basically like all KOA’s an RV parking lot with trees. Close to Springfield which is nice, and there arent a lot of great options around this area so it was fine for a one night stay over. Bonus points for being able to get a pizza delivered to my tent site.

a Nice KOA, but still a KOA

Stayed overnight Saturday and Sunday nights of Labor Day weekend. Campground looked a bit tired from the summer season. Ground littered with small pieces of paper like candy and soy sauce packages. Sites close together.  Several feral cats roaming the campground.

Nice for couple of nights.

Beautiful but had a hard time sleeping with the trains that kept passing through sounding the horns. It’s clean and nice space otherwise.

We reserved spot 10 for 2 nights. Equidistant between the main house and the new bath house on the SW corner of the property. It was a tad pricey but such as all the parks now. 
We had a 13ft pull behind that fit easily in our site.


Very nice accomodations. 

We rented a cabin and it was very nice and rustic feeling although I feel the amenities in the cabin could have been way better for example there was no mini fridge no kitchen or sink that was all outside in another area no couch no TV there was free Wi-Fi

Nice little campground 

We booked this site online the day before check in because it seemed to have decent reviews and would suit our needs for one night. After front tire blow out that we ended up on the side of the road for 7 hours with, amidst tornado warnings and severe winds, a severed hydraulic line and body damage, on the road the day of check in, we called for a late check in. Knowing we were going to be there late and needing repairs I went online to reserve a second night so we could stay over. We ended up arriving at around 2 am. The site seemed ok for the night. The spots were narrow and the trees tight for a Class A Motorhome, and the sites were potholed but we couldn’t level anyway because of our road mishap. Then the train started going by at all hours of the night and morning blowing it’s horn, was very difficult to sleep. When we woke up around 10:30 am, we called the office to make sure that we didn’t have to move. The host or employee we spoke to was not able to find our reservation and didn’t care at all to help us. We had let them know what happened on the road and she didn’t even care or pretend to offer a “glad you were safe” or anything. She “could fit us into a 30 amp” but that wasn’t going to work for us with our rig we needed 50 amps. We then walked over to the office to show them the check in email and screenshots of the reservation. They really didn’t care at all to help us. They were very cold and uncaring and didn’t even pretend to be concerned about helping. They obviously just wanted us to leave which We asked for other parks and they “didn’t really know”. 

We ended up calling another park 10 miles away and they got us a spot right away, before check in and ended up being the nicest kindest people you could want to know. 

Rude, not kind or caring at all

Shaded, great amenities, friendly staff, LOVE the pull throughs. I have a pop up that’s a pain to reverse. Almost all (if not all) these sites, you can pull through the actual site! Not the jsut the campground. 👌🏽

Great Stay 

Worst nights sleep. The trains run through the crossing blowing the fog horns all night. On top of had a worker wake me up by knocking on my window at 8am to come pay as I came after hours. Then a guy cutting the grass on a ride on 5ft from my truck flicked a stone right into my door chipping the paint. Not to mention just had my truck which has been max $25 at every other campsite across the country but $50 here.

The store was awesome, staff was friendly and helpful, grounds were beautiful and sites great. Cabins looked awesome too! Would absolutely stay again 

Excellent campground 

My wife and our children stayed here in the summer while we traveled for work and we were extremely pleased with both the grounds and the staff. They have great amenities and clean facilities as well as washers and dryers. They were so accommodating. The only drawback is a train close by. They have a small gated dog park and I huge open field. They have a seasonal swimming pool, kids playground, game room and few more things to keep the kids busy. Good WiFi and a shop that sells/makes/delivers pizza to your campsite. We will be visiting again in the future definitely.

Conveinient location

Everything you would expect from KOA Holiday.  Bathrooms appear to have been updated. Wifi test, 34 down, 25 up. Verizon spotty but ATT seemed good. Gravel site. Concrete pad with metal dinette. Firepit. Clean. Friendly staff. Premium sites had porch swings, grills and umbrellas

Overnight stay

Stayed here for 4 nights during a visit with family. Park is clean. Staff is friendly. They make fresh pizza at the convenience store/office and will deliver it to your site. We were there 3 weeks before the pool opens so we didn't get a chance to see that. Nice park that's close to 1-44, James River Parkway, and unfortunately a railroad crossing. So you will hear a train horn on occasion, but no highway noise. We will come back here and stay again. 

Nice stay

Spend a couple days here it was busy people were nice it was quiet shower houses were clean bathrooms are clean staff is nice that's a nice place to stay for visiting the Springfield area definitely stay again. There is a train that goes by once or twice a day, but not enough to really make a deal

Clean comfortable friendly 

One of the best KOA’s I’ve stayed! They even delivered pizza right to our site. Super easy check in and the most gracious hosts. If you have to stop in Springfield, MO - stay here.
