Tamarack Point Campground sits on a peninsula jutting into Lake Winnibigoshish within the Chippewa National Forest, accessible by both road and boat. This US Forest Service facility operates from May through July and provides basic amenities including drinking water, toilets, and trash service, though no hookups are available for RVs.
The forested campground offers both standard sites for tents and trailers plus a designated paddler site near the boat launch for Mississippi Headwaters Water Trail users crossing the lake. Recent reviews indicate maintenance challenges, with overgrown roads and unclear site boundaries affecting accessibility. Fishing remains the primary draw, with the boat ramp providing direct lake access for anglers and paddlers. Cell service is available, and pets are not permitted at this location.
