Equestrian campers and hikers have direct access to multiple trail systems from Goose Creek Trail Camp, a state forest campground in the forested landscape west of Grayling. One reviewer noted river access with stairs leading down to the water, making it workable even for horses new to water crossings. Sites include fire pits and picnic tables, drinking water is available on-site, and the campground is ADA accessible and big-rig friendly. Nightly fees run $6 to $8, with the season running April through October. Upper Manistee River campground sits less than a mile to the south for those wanting a nearby alternative. Pets are welcome.
