Begining of the season getaway

Harold Parker is pretty basic as it comes. It’s a nice place for sure. Lots of hiking. All the sites are very wooded. And there’s some sites along a river for fishing and such. Plenty of bath houses spread out through out the grounds. The weather happened to be pretty nice. A little windy at…

Go minimal

Didn't expect not to have bathrooms, just porta pots. Enjoyed the hiking around lake Washington!

North Shore Retreat from COVID

Went during COVID and they had every other campsite closed for social distancing. Was a great retreat from the work from home grind. Take a hiking around the pond and soak up the sunset!

South Shore Delight

Myles Standish has a little bit of everything: hikes, swimming and easy access from Boston area. Depending on the time of year other campers can be loud. Great swimming spot for the family.

Beautiful forest

Beautiful Campground God has many trails to wake as well as a few places to swim. Great place to get away for a little while.

Basic campground with hiking trails in the area.

This small state park campground offers basic campsites with running water and showers, open Memorial Day to Columbus Day.  This is NOT Wolf's Den Family Campground in E. Haddam, CT. Also, be aware there are 2 campgrounds at this State Park; the other one, Mashamoquet Brook, does not offer…

Myles Standish has several campgrounds

Myles Standish is ENORMOUS and has several campgrounds that are miles apart spanning more than one town.

I did a review on our stay at Curlew Pond Campground and it can be found at the Dyrt's page for that campground:

Big spot several ponds showers

There are many loops here. Some

Spots run closer to main road than others so you can hear the cars go by. Nice ponds. Decent place. Some sites are on slight inclines and have a lot of roots so it makes having more than one tent hard. Some nice pond views. Bathrooms were not cleaned during our stay…

Nice sites in deep woods

Convenient location, but still let’s you get away. Nice wooded sites. Only complaint about Massachusetts state parks is no alcohol even while sitting in your site.

Nice place, but Mass rules?

When you are sitting by the campfire, sometimes, chilling with a beer or another adult beverage is nice. Not in Massachusetts State Parks. No alcohol allowed. Too bad. The place has nice level sites and close to the Cape.

Excellent for SUPing with the fam

We’ve been coming here for 3 years and we always have a blast. It is so convenient to camp right on the lake. We can drop our paddle boards in any time and explore the lake. There is a tiny swimming beach on the campground side and we try to stay as close as possible to it.
