Wild Fox Cabins & Campground is a privately owned lakeside property on 155 acres along 3,600 feet of shoreline on Junior Lake in Penobscot County, Lakeville, Maine — about 80 miles northeast of Bangor. The property caters to anglers, boaters, ATV enthusiasts, and families seeking a remote Maine wilderness experience with a mix of cabin, RV, tent, and glamping accommodations.
Facilities
The property offers eight furnished log cabins (sleeping up to seven, with AC, full kitchen, hot showers, and TV), eleven rustic campsites accommodating RVs up to 35 ft (back-in only; sites 1-5 and 11 have 30-amp power and water hookups; no sewer), tent sites with no hookups, and a remote glamping site ('The Shoe Inn') on Horseshoe Lake. Campsite guests have access to nearby bathroom facilities with coin-operated showers. No pull-through sites and no 50-amp service are available.
Recreation
The property operates the only boat ramp on Junior Lake and offers fishing boat, canoe, and kayak rentals. Fishing is a primary draw with landlocked salmon and multiple trout species available. ATV and ITS snowmobile trail access is a key feature. Swimming from the waterfront and hiking on the surrounding 155 acres are also available.
