Spread out over 626 acres with over three miles of shoreline, the campground has three distinct areas to choose from:
East Bay: Inland sites. Electric & Water Hookup sites are here, as well as some of our most private tent sites. Sites 2-56 are shady, and sites 60-70 are in a more open area. This is the closest area to the Camp Store, showers and Snack Shack.
Middle Bay: Tents only area. Forested and shady, Middle Bay gives the feeling of being deep in the woods, yet with many waterfront sites.
West Bay: Tents and RVs welcome (no hook-ups). West Bay has tall trees along the water line, and open fields and pasture. This area is particularly suited to kids, as it hosts the playground and recreation field. This area was recently improved with our new shower building.

We have 16-ft and 9-ft bell tents, & a large screen house. We have a newly upgraded (see pics!) composting toilet & hot shower tents.
The screen house has a dinner table and chairs, camp stove, and living area with a daybed.
The large sleeping tent has a beautiful queen bed, pillows, sheets and comforters. The small tent has 2 floor mattresses, also with bedding.

This pet-friendly KOA offers a fun schedule of events, for both kids and adults, as well as there being a pool, playground, outdoor games area and gift shop. We have Arts & Crafts several times a week, Bingo on most Tuesday and Saturday evenings, pancake breakfast on Saturdays, fire truck rides on Saturday afternoons and theme weekends and related activities planned throughout the day on Saturdays. Most of our activities take place in and around our large pavilion, which is also available for rent for your special occasion. We have two food service locations on the property for you to enjoy. Welcome to Maine Forest Yurts! Our campground is located on Runaround Pond in Durham, Maine and spans over 100 acres of wilderness. It is ideal for an overnight, a weekend excursion or a week long retreat. Our fully furnished yurts are a perfect way to experience glamping in Maine and New England. The property is 5 minutes from Bradbury Mountain State Park, 15 minutes from Freeport/L.L. Bean and only 30 minutes north of Portland.
Pond5We are open year-round. Come experience unique seasonal adventures including kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, or just sit back, relax and take in the natural surroundings.
The property is located on Runaround Pond which is composed of two shallow, river-like tributaries approximately 2 miles long. This quiet pond is perfect for a peaceful paddle in a canoe where you can view wildlife including beavers, otters, eagles, osprey, kingfishers, herons, frogs, turtles, bass and pickerel. And if you are interested in winter camping, the pond makes for great ice skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. We are family friendly and dog friendly.
