Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers in a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall.



Primitive camping where you can pick your own scenic spot. We will furnish picnic table, fire ring, garbage can, and charcoal grill during your campout.

This listing is for tent, car, or small RV camping- We currently do not rent the tree house since it is my home. I may rent it out in the future and I will have a cabin available later in the year  

  

We are on a solar powered, off the grid 60 acre homestead that has 54 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. Come explore our land and relax in the"Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our(mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end). Camping can be in the Black Walnut Grove, in an open field or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods. We love groups- Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people.

South Harrison Co Park

Jefferson Memorial Forest features a campground for tent camping and can accommodate both families and groups. Although the Forest is only minutes from Metro Louisville, camping here seems like a much more remote camping experience. Located within the Horine Reservation, the campground is in the uplands of the Forest and has good separation between individual campsites. Seven family campsites and four group campsites are available. Latrines and water are near to all the sites.

While on the campground, observe the Indian cave dwelling burrowed in limestone cliffs, enjoy movies on our big outdoor movie screen, explore the area with a hike right from your site and enjoy our natural pond area! Make a splash in our crystal clear pool- open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Summer campers can join in the fun with our themed events every weekend from June until September. No problem! Enjoy a comfortable stay in one of our cozy one or two bedroom air-conditioned Camping Cabins. For those who like the comforts of home, try our fully furnished Deluxe Cabin, with full kitchen and bathroom. For more rustic accommodations, spend the night on a grassy tent site, all sites have fire pits and picnic benches. When we say bring the whole family, we mean your four legged friends too! Offering pet friendly cabins as well as a dog park for them to play in.

Located just minutes from the heart of Fort Knox, Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area is the perfect setting for a relaxing escape for your family, Unit or organization. Our property spans 65 acres of natural beauty, with a 25 acre lake that catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bass all call home. Camp Carlson can provide the peace and tranquility only nature brings, so plan your next getaway with us.

We serve all Active Duty Military, Retired Military, National Guard, Reserves, DoD civilians and their Families.

Tent Camping sites have a stay limit of 90 consecutive days between April 1 and September 30. Customers reaching 90 consecutive days must depart for 72 hours.

Camp Carlson has ten furnished Family Cabins all equipped with a bathroom, refrigerator, stove, beds, kitchen table, chairs and a living room. Additionally, dishes, glasses, silverware, a coffee maker, pots and pans are furnished by the campground. Guest must furnish their own linens (sheets, towels, blankets, wash rags, & pillows). Family cabins have satellite TV service. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Of the six parks in the Bluegrass State, Mammoth Cave is the only true national park. This area of southwestern Kentucky holds the best outdoor activities to be found in the state.
