KOA Campground Salina

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting just off the interstate in central Kansas, this former KOA property gives westbound and eastbound travelers a quick, low-friction overnight stop without adding extra miles to a long drive. Road noise is a real factor here, particularly for tent campers and those without AC running, though trees and grass across the grounds provide some buffer and shade during warmer months.

Sites vary between concrete pads and gravel, with most running close to level. The deluxe patio sites include a fire pit and gas grill, and reviewers note the grills have arrived clean with utensils ready to use. Tent sites also have electric hookups and fire pits. The campground accommodates RVs up to 80 feet with full hookups, electric, water, and sewer. Families traveling with kids have a notable spread of activities to work with: two pools, a jump pad, pedal carts, adjustable basketball hoops, an outdoor ping pong table, and a gator-pulled wagon ride. The on-site store carries pizza, ice cream, and basic grocery items, and staff have been known to deliver food orders directly to sites.

Bathrooms are air-conditioned and consistently receive high marks for cleanliness. The dog run is fenced and well-maintained. James P. notes the campground is "no longer affiliated with KOA," worth knowing for those expecting chain-standard programming. Campers can also browse campgrounds near Salina if they need alternatives in the area. This stop makes the most sense for road-trippers, families with young children, and RV travelers who need full hookups and a reliable overnight base in Kansas.

Nice campground

Easy on/off; very close to interstate. A lot of road noise. Very peaceful other than that. No longer affiliated with KOA. Mostly level sites. Nice playground. Electrical stations in good repair. Trees and grass keep the campground cool.

Cool pool and campground!

We tent camped here and enjoyed our stay. The food, pizza, was excellent. The staff brought our order to our site. We enjoyed a swim in the pool to cool off due to the temperature being in mid 90's. The bathrooms were air conditioned and clean. Overall, this campground is a good one and we recommend it!

Great stop, family friendly!

KOA did not disappoint here. Right off the highway, there is some road noise but for someone passing through it was great because it didn’t add more miles to our trip. We have a 5th wheel so with the AC running at night we didn’t hear the road noise.

Spots are wide enough to allow space and not on top of neighbors. We got a deluxe patio site. Very convenient so we did not have to pull out are grill and outdoor furniture for just an overnight stay. Had a fire pit and gas grill (that was remarkably clean and had all clean utensils inside for grilling!)

The store has fresh pizza and ice cream available, as well as some small grocery needs, and there is a big selection for Rv accessories/parts.

The kids loved the pool. There are 2 pools one circular one 3ft on sides 6 in the center. And a smaller rectangle one that is a kiddie pool. My son is 40 inches and he could touch the entire length. They have a gator pulling train cart, pedal carts, a jumping pad, basketball hoops that are adjustable and an outdoor ping pong table. Also a playground that could use some updates. And a fenced in dog park.

Overall a great stop for one night, and if I ever find myself driving through Kansas again I will definitely stay again.

This is a nice place!

We arrived after dark and the layout of the park is confusing in the dark. The next morning as we left we found the layout wasn't confusing at all! Lots of different camping spots, some concrete pads, some gravel. We had a gravel spot, almost perfect level, didn't have to do additional leveling. The showers and restrooms we're clean and well lit. Would definitely stay here again. We travel in a 26 foot class C
