Within Mariposa Recreation Area, this county-managed campground sits on forested terrain near a lake that has recently undergone dredging and restoration work. The Jasper County Conservation Board maintains the site with basic amenities including picnic tables, restrooms, and trash service. Sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, though one reviewer notes the area works better for tent camping given the terrain and layout.
The lake allows electric motor boats, kayaks, and canoes, with fishing historically productive for catfish, bluegill, and bass before the recent updates. Beyond the camping area, visitors can explore hiking trails leading to a back pond, plus a butterfly garden and playground. For those seeking campgrounds around Kellogg, this $12-per-night option provides country camping with room to spread out.
