Blue Heron Campground & Marina

Accessible by both boat and vehicle, Blue Heron Campground & Marina sits within Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge and costs $23 per night with reservations available. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages this lakeside facility, which provides electric and water hookups for RVs along with basic amenities including restrooms and a dump station. Campers report tight spacing between sites but appreciate the clean facilities and quiet atmosphere, though geese frequent the area. A single washer and dryer require $4 in quarters for a full cycle, and the staff collects abandoned firewood for resale. The campground allows pets and campfires, with fishing and kayaking available directly from the lake access.

Super clean bathhouse

Clean and quiet, tight spaces, firewood available for purchase but if you leave wood behind they pick it up and re-sell it.
