Sitting at the bottom of a narrow canyon in Wallace, Idaho, Wallace RV Park runs alongside a creek that divides the property into two distinct camping experiences: sites that back directly up to the water and roadside sites that face the main road. The canyon walls shade the campground quickly in the afternoon, which helps offset the lack of tree cover at individual sites. At roughly 41 sites total, the park fills up during summer and festival weekends, though staff have a reputation for working with late arrivals to find a workable spot.
The creek-facing sites are the most sought-after. Jennifer H. describes backing in "right above the creek," adding that "with the windows open I could hear it babbling all night." Roadside sites trade the water sounds for road noise, which reviewers consistently flag as a real factor during daylight hours. ATVs and UTVs are common in the area, and some locals run loud vehicles on the road. Things quiet down around 8:30 p.m. according to multiple visitors, but light sleepers and tent campers should factor this in when choosing a site. Tent campers on the roadside should also know that overhead lighting keeps sites bright through the night.
Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer run $45 per night. Showers and toilets are included in that rate. WiFi is available and reportedly works well from the on-site deck. A brew pub sits directly on the property, and a laundromat is nearby. Cabins are also available for those not bringing their own rig.
The campground's location makes it a practical base for exploring the surrounding area. The Trail of the Hiawatha and the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes Dispersed Pull-offs are both accessible from the Wallace area, and the historic downtown is within walking distance. Campers researching camping near Wallace will find this park among the most convenient options for those who want full hookups close to town. It works best for RV travelers who prioritize walkable access to town amenities and don't mind trading some quiet for location.
