Hammock camping and backcountry firearms practice draw visitors to this hike-in BLM site outside St. Maries, open July through October. No water is available on-site, so campers need to arrive fully self-sufficient. Access is rough, and the surrounding trees are largely unmaintained, though clearings exist for setting up camp. Those looking for a nearby alternative with easier access can consider Tingley Springs on Phillip Draw, about 1.5 miles northeast. Cell service should not be counted on. Pack everything in.
Description
This is a primitive backcountry site with six tent camping units and a vault toilet; no other services or facilities are available. The access road is narrow, steep and rough.
