Tingley Spring - BLM is located near St Maries, Idaho, surrounded by forested terrain. Temperatures range from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit during winter to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby attractions include the St. Joe River and Heyburn State Park, offering opportunities for fishing and hiking.

This is a primitive backcountry site with six tent camping units and a vault toilet; no other services or facilities are available. The access road is narrow, steep and rough.

The Best Camping Near St. Maries, Idaho

My favorite spots are these back country spots with my partner.

There are several sites near here and it’s remote enough to sight in your guns and do a little practice.

Bring all your camping supplies, as there are not services like water, which is just how we like them! 

As you would expect there is not much maintenance of the trees nearby, but I was still able for find a clearing to set up my hammock.  

This was my first back-country attempt when I got my hammock backpacking gear.
