Slate Creek Recreation Site

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Highway 95 cuts directly past this BLM recreation site, placing campers right beside the Salmon River with minimal driving required. The campground sits on a concrete pad system just off the main road, offering level sites with covered picnic tables and basic amenities including drinking water and dump station access. Road noise from the highway provides a constant backdrop, though the river location and immediate access make it function well as an overnight stop for RV travelers.

Sites fill on a first-come basis, with the prime riverside spots featuring the most level concrete pads and covered areas. The setup resembles a rest area more than traditional dispersed camping, but the BLM management and river access distinguish it from highway stops. Twin Bridges Recreation Area Campground sits less than a mile north for campers wanting additional options along this stretch of the Salmon River corridor.

Great one night stand

Just driving by and there it was. Waiting for me. By the river. Quiet. (Except for slight noise from 95). I was the first there for the evening so I got the prime spot with covered picnic table and level concrete pad. It is literally right off the highway. A very slight drive down to the campsites. Very much like staying at a rest area but the look and feel of BLM dispersed. I highly recommend if you need someplace to park your RV for the night and have a great evening by the river.
