Sitting in forested terrain near a creek in northern Idaho's BLM land, Orphan Point Saddle runs a short season from July through September. No pets are allowed. The campground sits adjacent to Crater Peak - BLM, with BLM Crater Lake Saddle roughly 1.7 miles to the southwest, making this stretch of the Coeur d'Alene Field Office a reasonable base for campers covering multiple sites in the area.
Description
This is one of three primitive backcountry camp sites along Forest Road 301 on the south side of Widow Mountain Wilderness Study Area (WSA) and serves as the trailhead for the Lookout Mountain and Delaney Creek Trails.
