Forested terrain and a short summer window define BLM Crater Lake Saddle, an established BLM campground outside camping spots around Clarkia that operates only from July through September. No pets are allowed on site. Campers looking for nearby alternatives can check Crater Peak - BLM, roughly 1.6 miles to the northeast, or BLM Orphan Point Saddle at a similar distance. This site tends to suit self-sufficient campers comfortable with limited amenities and remote, tree-covered surroundings.
Description
This is one of three primitive backcountry campsites along Forest Road 301 on the south side of the Widow Mountain Wilderness Study Area (WSA). A vault toilet is available at the site however no garbage or other services are provided.
