Best Glamping near Troy, ID

This was our first experience with a full service resort glamping. We just got a pop up trailer and got some free nights.. the park was beautiful the bathrooms were just remodeled. You were not super close to your neighbors. It as very quiet and there was a walking/ biking path along the river. Hells canyon is right up the road for tours going thru the rapids. We had a really good time.

Beautiful setting. Nice campsite options, tent, RV, and yurt. Nice place to ride bikes, fish, hike, and relax.

Very friendly staff that keeps the facilities clean. Full hookups with lots of pull through spaces if needed. We fully utilized the bike path along the river each day for nice long rides into Idaho and back to Washington. Would stay again.

Freeman Creek at Dworshak State park has great opportunity for all levels of camping. Tent sites, RV/Trailer sites, or a few small primitive cabins (no bathrooms or kitchens in the cabins). There is also access to the reservoir for boating, fishing or to mini-camp sites all along the reservoir. Kokanee fishing is great from March to about late July. The spawn begins in August, so the fish move up the reservoir as the season progresses. Smallmouth bass fishing is great! The Idaho state Smallmouth record was caught in this lake. Day use parking is available for a small fee. For Idaho residents with the State Parks pass reduces the fee. A lot of wildlife viewing too! If you are lucky you may see a black bear feeding on blackberries, deer are numerous, elk frequent the lake, and one of my favorites is to watch Osprey dive in the lake for fish.

I have been at this park in every month of the calendar, but only camped from April thru October.

Upon arrival, we immediately felt the peacefulness. Our site was tucked into the pines creating a canopy of coolness in the midst of the oppressing heat of this record breaking year.

The sites are somewhat level. Easily adjusted to make them work. The space between sites are not as generously spaced as with othe Idaho SP we have stayed in. There are vault toilets throughout the campground with one building that houses flush toilets and 2 shower stalls. They are older but squeaky clean.

There's a great day use area that has a large covered pavilion, playground and boat launch/ pier. I don't fish, but loaner poles are available at the visitor center. The boat launch is further around the lake and provides ample parking and a vault toilet. No motorized watercraft are allowed on the lake which makes it a wonderful place to kayak and SUP.

There are a few trails around the lake. Nothing hard. There are tons of thimbleberries bushes along the road yo the boat launch and were just about ripe. They are so delicious!

Enjoying the peace and quiet of the SP should be your expectation as there is not a lot of other options nearby.

Pro note: Wolf Track micro brewery is about 30 min. away in Cottonwood. Good beer. Also, stop at the Bark Park just as you enter the town of Cottonwood. You'll understand once you visit.

I’ve been in search of local winter camping spots. I’ve never paid so much for a tent site in my entire life. It’s important to note that even though it says it’s an RV Park there are tent spots offered here.

I think the price is high just because it’s in touristy location.

There were enough trees to set up our hammocks!

The biggest thing I disliked about this site is that the 30 dollars they charges us was not enough. They will charge an additional 3 dollars per head and 5 dollars for an additional car.

If you go in a group like we did, that really adds up. 🥵

There was a playground on site but other than that it’s nothing special.

The park manager was very social. I don’t mind but if you want privacy you may want to stay at a different location. My partner likes the privacy camping brings. We will never return, but if you have safety concerns with children, I can see this as being a bonus.

Only reason for 4 stars is not being able to reserve a spot. Very quiet, cozy location. Stayed here twice; both times was an overnight stay while waiting to pick my Scouts up from summer camp. The sites are very spacious and vault restrooms are located all through the grounds. I’ve never made it to swim; however, the area is quite large.

This seasonal campground that has areas to swim. It does have restrooms and a playground for kids. I enjoy recreation here in the summer but I prefer to have more privacy when camping. I do not have phone service here.

It costs 12 dollars a night. There is a grocery store not too far away in potlatch.

The campground is about 3.3 miles away from Harvard, and there is a lot of nearby places to access the Palouse river.

There is good fishing areas nearby. Further up the road there is dispersed campsites that are large enough for large groups. If you have kids Laird park is a great location.

This is an all paved rv campground on the Snake River and bordering Lewiston, ID. It has all the amenities of the Premier RV Resort affiliation. It has all the hook-ups and all sites are well manicured. A lot of the sites have longer term rv's from seasonal workers and such, it is not like a long term trailer park though. The management works to make sure your needs are taken care of. There is a paved walking trail alongside the park that follows the river with pet statiions located at intervals and is maitained by the municipality. There are Snake river boat tours nearby and plenty of shopping close and throughout the community. Fishing is a big activity on the rivers.

We spent a few days here and had a great time. Tucked back off main roads which allowed for nice quiet sleep! Runs along side the river and has a great walking/biking trail. The owners have fun with the residents... “Sweet Saturday” with homemade goodies in the office and then Sunday Sundaes for $1 you can have an ice cream sundae with toppings in the office! The kids LOVED it! Overall GREAT park!

Had a wonderful stay here back in June for a week. Enjoyed the quiet of the park as it is tucked away behind Costco with no busy roads around it. Beautiful riverfront spots. Great biking trails and was able to easily bike to and from work. Definitely would recommend.

I come to visit a friend who was camping and loved the view and how quiet it was

We booked a last minute one night stay here. We checked in late and there were specific, thorough directions and information waiting for us. The management was very helpful and friendly. Our spot was by the water and walking path along the lake. The spot was paved with lawn surrounding. The whole park is clean and well taken care of. Good cell service and WiFi too!

But was not for us. Full disclosure—Clarkston in general was not for us.

The management is incompetent. Catherine Thagard is claims policies that are not written and informs customers upon arrival. They threaten you, their male management is racist and aggressive. They bend their "rules" and policies dependent on "who" you are. Most importantly, they treat their employees horribly. Only stay here if you want to fund a racist, masaginistic company that abuses their staff

We book a group camp site every year and have a camping reunion!

The kids love it and the grown up worry less at such a family appropriate park

It is not the easiest to get to, and the road is a test for your engine and brakes, but once you arrive it is a quiet peaceful park with great water access. We originally had a reservation for a view site with no hook ups, but upon arrival they had a hookup site(#104) available, and the temps were nearly 100 degrees, so we took it! The park is large and thus the areas seem nicely spaced apart, never felt crowded, even though there are over 100 sites. There is lots of shoreline and plenty of water for everyone. We launched the kayaks and enjoyed the water ourselves- paddled to the opposite shore and found a remote unoccupied camp.

Set up camp with close-by access to a developed recreation area. Lots of options for accommodation and easily accessible

I came here to hang out during a logging sports event and I really enjoyed the doc area where I sat with my feet in the water. We did not swim (except my dog), but we enjoyed the landscape and the lush green grass they were growing.

I do want to camp in this park but we were camping at another location with the logger sports team.

To start, what a gorgeous area! Quiet, calm, nice. 

At first when we rolled into our spot I thought I was going to be in huge trouble- drive through spot with a wicked drop off on the right side (camper door side) with the fire pit and picnic table at the bottom. I pictured kids falling, food mishaps, general non fun trudging up and down. Well, it actually turned out ok: we moved our 5th wheel as far from the edge as possible which allowed for a decent platform and we ended up having a birds eye view of what all the kids were doing. If that's still a problem, be mindful of what site you are signing up for, meadow ones are available. 

• Bathrooms and showers were ok, though the standard, push the button every 30 seconds to have water flow in your shower is a little annoying (maybe i'm just a princess). 
• Sweet little nature trails were pretty and easy for smaller children to walk through. 
• Easy lake access is only in the park/play area. The rest of the lake access is a pretty blunt drop off from forest to water (read: no wadding in the sand). But the play area was pleasant. I heard that this year (2021) is was a bit more run down than usual so maybe next year it'll improve??? We still enjoyed the water and had a ton of fun finding tadpoles. 
• You can rent SUPs and canoes and have a little explore around the lake. Very enjoyable.
• NO CELL SERVICE. You just have to be present with one another. 
• Important for our family- when we went in June, there were next to no mosquitos! My poor teenager usually gets eaten alive anywhere we go and he left unscathed! 
• THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP::::: Even though we loved the location, we won't be returning simply because of the road to get there. Google maps wrecked us- I selected "quickest route" and had NO warnings that we would be driving up the narrowest gravel road with a 11% incline!!!! We have a diesel F350 but towing a big 5th wheel made it horrifying. Please be smarter than me and do your research. Once we started the decline it was mercifully paved but signage posted stated "2 road lane can be used as single lane" as it becomes the Lombard St for recreational vehicles! I saw some class A's that had boats towed behind them and I'm not entirely sure they didn't use witchcraft to make it work.

Great pay camp that has everything you could need

Im more into camping in more remote locations but this camp has it all if that's what you want great place just not my kinda camping

Our group stayed in the cabin, but hoping to come back for tent camping in warmer months

We stayed in Birch Loop for 2 nights. This was our maiden voyage so we opted for something close to a city as we were still setting up our camper coming out of winter.

Our spot was plenty long enough, but not as wide as I would have liked. There are two big trees on passenger side that prevent setting up a comfy patio. That said, the fire pit area is perfect size.

The center of the loop is for groups, so noise is centralized. Other than that, good space between sites and all are pretty level and paved.

The hiking trails are great with lots of options for easy hikes by the water or tougher ones up the mountain. Either way, you can’t go wrong. The noise on the river from jet boats was mild as it is only end of March.
