Many hiking and viewpoints

Great place to camp near the cloudland canyon. The campsite 8 that we camped on was far from parking and restroom, so you might wanna choose the sites near to parking. Be prepared to carry things for quite a walk. Bring something to carry water to your site from water filling station near the restrooms. But, the campsites are well spaced so you will have the privacy you need. There are lots of beautiful hiking places nearby.

Backcountry Site 1

Good site. Ground is slanted but the walk was easy. Our 4 year old had no issue and neither did I even with a pack and being 4 months pregnant

Nice quiet primitive camping

Camped at site 19 of the walk-in campground. The campsites close to parking and fairly close, I chose site 19 because it is a bit of a walk and more private. I could not see any other campers from campsite. During the week I had the back section all to myself. There is a stream flowing by the campsite so I could hear the water flowing, nice and relaxing. Hiking trail runs from campsite to the main trails for plenty if beautiful hiking and waterfalls to enjoy.

Clean & Connected to trails

This was our first time here and we enjoyed the area very much. Clean, very well maintained, and connected to a fairly extensive trail system. You can easily access the West Rim Trail directly from this group of walk-in campsites and connect to most if not all the other trails in the park. Our first night here (2 nights, set up Thursday broke camp Saturday) there was hardly anyone else camping so it was very quiet. Friday evening/night the masses began arriving and 'carting' loads of equipment in. As we were breaking camp on Saturday, more people were arriving bringing more cart loads of equipment. Our stay was still enjoyable but got 'interesting' to say the least. We're going to try the backcountry camp sites next time. Just as accessible but spread further apart and more secluded. I still recommend these campsites. Just be mindful and prepared depending on the part of the week you're booking.

Cloudland Canyon State Park East Rim Campground was close to trails

We enjoyed our stay at the East Rim Campground. Our site was fairly level and we loved being close to waterfall trails and East Rim trail. Our neighbors were noisy with 2 different tent campers with babies and toddlers and a dog that stayed off leash. It chased the deer that were feeding across the road away which was frustrating. Camp bathroom was clean. Trail to waterfall trails between cabins 1 & 2.

Spread out and private

Close to showers and bathroom, not far to walk, nice size campsites and spread out so has the feeling of privacy and some further back are very private. I love that place.

One of my Favs!

Such a great little campground! The sites are spaced out enough that you can kinda see other sites, but you're not all on top of each other. Most sites are a reasonable distance from the bathroom and parking lot. Sites further from both are more private. The trail to the sites also connects to several other trails in the park, so you can hike straight from your campsite to the falls. Pets are allowed, picnic tables and fire pits provided. Sloped sites have a level tent pad as well. would highly recommend!!
