The Best Camping Near Austell, Georgia

We may return though! The spots are a bit close together but the neighborhood is quiet. Wasn’t what we expected as there is not really a view of Sweetwater Creek- but it is about a 5 minute drive. We may go back to stay for a while because it is convenient to be so close to Sweetwater and we do enjoy going! 😄

Decided against it

Make sure to check out my video review below where I show you around some of the campground. This is much more of a mobile home or RV park than a campground since most of the people staying here are set up for long term residency rather than for a night or two. Additionally, it is right near downtown Atlanta so not exactly where I would want to spend the night if it wasn’t more of a home situation. If this is your purpose I would first check out the Atlanta West Campground down the street since it was significantly nicer in my opinion. This location seems mostly like a large parking lot where you can park and set up your site but there is not really any privacy or separation between different RVs. Only a couple miles away is Sweetwater State Park which is well worth a visit and has some wonderful hiking trails.

Wowzzzzaaaa Georgia is amazing!!! This camp ground is great, the roads for sure can be improved... a lot of bumps and a rough rode, so be careful when driving. Other than that nice camp ground surrounded by trees and an amazing park right across the way with huge grounds to run your dogs.

We had to leave right after we got there, I’ve seen RV storage lots better than this. 


Terrible 

Forget the fact that water and sewer were on wrong side. Forget that water and sewer were gross and almost touching each other. Forget that there was one shower and one toilet for the park. No cable, no Wi-Fi. We have just spent last five months traveling coast to coast and this was the most expensive park. All had to be prepaid online fine independent service provider. That should have been my first clue, the “office” for this place is some guys cell phone. DON’T BOTHER! 

Bad is one thing, but this

Simple no frills place to stop for the night. Safe area and the Manager was really nice when we had an issue.

Not Too Bad

Truly loved our stay at sweetwater creek RV. It was so quite and relaxing!
 All around peacefull place! Laundry room on site as well as showers and wi fi for guest access. Manager is a sweetheart! Located very close to convenience stores and grocery stores as well.

I stayed almost a week in space 81. When I made my reservation, I could not get a 50A site so reserved a 30A site. I called Sweetwater Creek and with no fuss, they rearranged things so that I could have a site with 50A. Wonderful service!

  

Everything was handled via text and email messages before I arrived. Once on-site, I never saw an employee or an office. Had I needed anything, I had been instructed to call/text Jonathan. He was sure prompt in replying before I arrived so I am sure it would all have been fine had I needed him during my stay. It was kind of weird not checking in at an office but, honestly, I can't complain. The site was clean and the utilities worked.

  

Sweetwater Creek RV Reserve is definitely urban. The sites aren't much wider than the trailers. You definitely won't sit outside for the scenery. Maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the sites looked to be occupied by long-term residents but all of the units looked to be in good repair. My wife and I definitely felt safe.

  

There are not many choices for RVs in the Atlanta metro area. When we come back to Atlanta, we will stay here again. 

  

I gave this four stars instead of five because a) the pavement is so deteriorated that it is almost moon craters, and b) the "scenery" just plain sucks. But for a safe place to hook up and stay, Sweetwater Creek RV Reserve gets five stars.
