Wildlife viewing and forest exploration draw campers to Pine Hill Camp, a dispersed site set within Di-Lane Wildlife Management Area in Burke County, Georgia. The camp sits well off the main road, and sites back directly into forest that campers can walk into on foot. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources manages the area, which has no formal hookups but does allow campfires, pets, and alcohol.
The access road deserves attention before arrival. It runs on sandy dirt with soft spots, and after rain it can become unexpectedly slick. The loop drive through the camp area itself tends to hold up better, so even rigs without four-wheel drive can generally manage once on-site. One camper brought a 37-foot fifth wheel and found a workable spot with some leveling blocks. Level ground is not guaranteed, but it exists. Cell coverage is limited: T-Mobile has performed poorly here, while AT&T has provided at least a usable signal.
Eric Z. calls it a "lovely quiet place to relax or work," and the dispersed layout supports that. The camp sits far enough from any main road that traffic noise is essentially absent. Crowd pressure is low. Multiple visitors have had the site entirely to themselves for multi-day stays. Campers interested in nearby developed facilities can find options at Magnolia Springs State Park Campground, roughly 10 miles southeast. Pine Hill works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable navigating soft dirt roads and managing uneven terrain.
