Overview
Ohoopee River Campground is a family-owned and operated private campground situated directly on the banks of the Ohoopee River in Lyons, Georgia, open year-round since 2018. It caters to a broad range of guests including families, RVers, tent campers, cabin guests, snowbirds, and kayakers, and is within easy reach of Vidalia, Savannah, Dublin, and Statesboro.
Facilities
The campground offers 85 sites total, including pull-through RV sites with full hookups (water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric), shaded tent sites with water and power, and rental cabins. A gated entrance, private bathhouses with showers, coin-operated laundry, a camp store (selling firewood), and an event pavilion are on-site. The campground accepts big rigs up to 42 feet.
Recreation
Direct river access allows swimming and fishing from the campsite. Kayak and canoe rentals (with shuttle service) are offered. A walking trail, playground, sandbar beach, and outdoor theater are on-site. The campground hosts themed weekends, karaoke nights, and other special events throughout the year.
