Amazing experience

Camped here several times. The gorge is a thing of beauty with several overlooks around the rim. There is a nice trail from the campground that will lead to the gorge. At this wtiting permits are not being issued to hike to the bottom of the gorge. Dogs are permitted on the trails except the…

nature heals

This is a very nice place. With great people and great views. Getting out in nature,as this place allows, brings us back to our roots, connects us back to the Earth and it's other inhabitants, the animals and plants. This is a wonderful place to do this.

Great, cheap site

Great little site outside Helen, only $12 to camp. There's a trail that leads 2 miles sand then you're on the AT, a creek food through the middle so you hear water all night and it covers up how close you are to the road. There's a basic toilet just hold your breath. All in all nice place for $12

KOA - Paducah kentucky

Very nice people. Very clean campground. Sites were tight. Could not fit truck on pull thru with 40’ toy hauler. Everything worked and it was fine for the overnight stay on our way south. I would not stay in a pull thru there is I was camping multiple days. Very nice place

Nice location

As of right now, they are in the middle of construction to transfer over to a KOA campground. So, it's kind of noisy during working hours. The only tent sites they offer are primitive and it's a bit of a walk to the bathrooms. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Bathrooms are small and in need…

Nice quite and serene

Its not far from civilization but you feel like you are far away from it when you drift to sleep on a starry night under pink moon on the water

Very relaxing and quiet. Clean facilities.

We stayed here for 4 nights in late April 2021. The weather was cool, and beautiful. We stayed in campsite 17, and had a small teardrop trailer. The site is a bit cramped with a trailer and a vehicle parked in it, and we had no room to open our awning. There are other sites in the same loop that…

  • Nice clearing adjacent to our site with space for hammocks.

Great Childhood Memories

We visited Vogel in April 2021 and it was just as good as I remembered as a child. My grandparents used to bring me here all the time when I was little. Some of my first camping experiences. It’s just as amazing today as it was then. We stayed in the area for small rigs and tents, #79. It was…

Longest original cover bridge in Georgia

229 ft long covered bridge you can drive through (height and weight restrictions). Sites have power and water, dump station is available. Shower house with laundry. Hiking and bike trails. Shadey and quiet. Wade in the river below the bridge but careful, the rocks are slick.

  • Great place to have a picnic
  • Walk, bike, or drive thru. The longest original covered bridge still in existence in Georgia.
