With 163 sites spread across forested and open terrain along West Point Lake, Holiday Campground gives campers a lot to work with, and reservations are available to lock in a spot ahead of time. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the campground runs from early March through mid-September, with nightly rates from $16 to $48. Sites accommodate RVs up to 70 feet and include 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups along with water connections. No sewer hookups are available at individual sites, but a dump station is on-site.
Water access is the defining feature here. Roughly 90 percent of sites sit on or near the shoreline, many with gently sloping banks that make launching kayaks and canoes straightforward without a separate put-in. Paddlers can enter the water directly from their campsite. Loaner personal flotation devices can be picked up at the gatehouse, a practical detail worth knowing if you're traveling without your own gear. Several reviewers also note easy boat launching from waterfront sites, and a boat ramp is available for larger vessels.
Site spacing is generous enough that neighbors aren't crowded together, and wooded buffers between some sites add a degree of separation. Two group-only areas, each with five sites, can be reserved as a single block, making them a reasonable option for Scout troops or larger family gatherings. "Clean restrooms, showers, and laundry rooms" are available on-site, according to Dorraine S., though at least one reviewer noted not finding showers in their specific area of the campground.
A few practical notes: management enforces rules closely, and at least one camper reports a significant confrontation with staff over a minor check-in issue. Mosquitoes can be heavy, particularly in spring and early summer. Peak season weekends fill up fast, and prime waterfront spots go first. Whitetail Ridge Campground sits about a half mile north if Holiday is fully booked. Book well in advance for summer holiday weekends, and bring insect repellent regardless of when you visit.
