Free and hike-in only, Cowrock Mountain is a dispersed camping area within Chattahoochee National Forest, reached via a roughly one-mile climb from Tesnatee Gap on GA Hwy 348. The site sits near the summit, where the tree cover thins along the ridge and large rocky outcrops provide open sightlines toward the Blue Ridge. Hammocks and tents both work on the relatively flat ground. No water is available at camp; the nearest source is approximately 0.5 miles west at Baggs Creek Gap. Campers who want developed facilities can look at Lake Winfield Scott Campground as an alternative, or find places to camp near Chattahoochee National Forest for a broader set of options.
