Open terrain along the Georgia-Alabama border puts Lake Walter F. George front and center at George T. Bagby State Park Cottages, where cottages and RV sites sit close to the water with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. Rates run $44 to $230 per night. Fishing and biking trails give campers structured reasons to stay more than one night, and pets are welcome. Those planning a broader trip through campsites near Fort Gaines will find Cotton Hill less than a mile north along the same lake.
Description
George T. Bagby State Park is located along the shores of Lake Walter F. George (Lake Eufaula) in southwest Georgia. A boat ramp and swimming beach offer easy access to the 48,000-acre lake, where trophy fishing includes the state record catch for blue catfish. Bass also team the waters along with other southern freshwater fish. Wildlife is abundant, and guests can look for alligators, deer, beaver, armadillo, river otter, gopher tortoises, eagles, osprey and songbirds. Meadow Links Golf Course offers affordable rates year-round.

A ParkPass is required for all vehicles. Price for ParkPasses are not included with the reservation. Overnight guests pay only one ParkPass fee for the duration of their stay. The daily ParkPass is valid at all state parks visited the same day and is not valid at state historic sites.
ParkPass fees are as follow:
1-12 passenger vehicles $5 per day or $50 annual ParkPass;
13-30 passenger vehicles $30 per day or $75 annual ParkPass;
31 or more passenger vehicles $70 per day or $250 annual ParkPass;
Georgia active duty military/veterans $3.75 per day or $37.50 annual ParkPass.
