Terrible Marina staff

Too bad I can not leave ZERO stars. Gave a month notice to pull my boat out for good. They lost it and tried to charge me another month. Then after pulling my boat I see another$60 charge for fuel I NEVER asked for. When I complained to a lady on the phone some man eavesdropping on the phone breaks in and says"I'm glad you pulled your boat out". AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Your Own Slab of Waterfront Concrete RV Heaven

The veneer of this place smells and looks new, what with its freshly poured chalk-powdered concrete slabs (330 in total) that your RV will be perfectly placed upon right in front of a clear sparkling Lake Harris (and other nearby lakes – 76K acres in all). And like all of the new housing going up around these parts, this ‘park’ (which is odd because there was no rollercoaster, nere even a swing to be swung or a slide to glide down) packs RVs in like nobody’s business, so if you have problems with proximity to others, than you will certainly struggle in this place, where on either side of your rented concrete slab, you will be within arm’s reach of your neighbors.

That said, most of the fine folks I met here seemed to be pretty darn hospitable and welcoming, so maybe being parked this close to complete strangers isn’t all that bad, but I’ll let you be the judge. As for the amenities, there’s a handful: pull-through and back-in RV sites with all the traditional hook-ups (water, 30 / 50 electric amp and sewage), perfectly flat RV slabs (which we’ve already covered), a community heated pool, hot tub, full-scale fitness center and recreation hall along with plenty of very well-maintained bathroom and shower facilities. Additional amenities include: full-service marina, 9 hole championship golf course with plenty of hiking and biking nearby, remodeled club house, on-site laundry, boat ramp, complimentary WiFi, boat wet slips, post office, propane service, dumpsite, golf cart drive-in movie theater (yeah, you just read that right!), shuffleboard, bingo, life-sized jenga, bowling, euchre tournaments and boat storage.

As the name of this place would suggest, of course, there’s a very well-maintained proper fishing marina, complete with no shortage of dockage as well as even stowage should you be so inclined to leave your boat here for a spell. And if you’ve forgotten your boat, no worries, there’s plenty of well-meaning sailors here that will either rent you there’s for the day or, better, can be easily bribed to take you out for a decent whip on their seaworthy vessel. So, net-net, if you’re looking for a place to layup for the night and like things well-oiled and nicely organized, then Fisherman’s Cove Marina & RV Park could be an ideal spot for you.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) You’ll discover that this central part of Florida is really a gem from a nature standpoint, so if you don’t know it, laying up here at Fisherman’s Cove wouldn’t be the worst decision you’ve ever made. And if you do, I recommend Lake Beauclaire, Ola and Carlton from a fishing standpoint; (2) If you miss the hum and drum of civilization, in less than 30 minutes you can be walking among the well-heeled on the cobblestone streets of Mount Dora where there is no shortage of art galleries, restaurants and boutiques to choose from; (3) In the event that you have not heard of one of Florida’s greatest treasures – its natural Springs – then I recommend you check out a few of the springs that are nearby, such as Kelly Springs and renowned Wekiva Springs; and (4) If you are tent camping, then the hard concrete of Fisherman’s Cove simply won’t do, so I would suggest you drive less than 30 minutes from here where you will find a true campground paradise that will have you casting lines in some of the most pristine fresh water lakes, hoisting hammocks from live ancient Oaks dripping with Spanish Moss all with a lakefront vista that cannot be beat – Trimble Park Campground.

Happy Camping!
