Dispersed camping along Parachute Hill Road draws off-road enthusiasts into Roosevelt National Forest, but the site doubles as an active OHV corridor. Spots fill fast on summer weekends; one camper arrived at 2 pm on a Friday and had choices, but by 8 pm every site was taken. Saturday brought near-constant side-by-side, quad, and dirt bike traffic from 10 am to 6 pm, with fine dust settling over gear. Four-wheel drive and solid clearance are necessary to reach the better sites. Campers sensitive to noise and dust may want to look at places to camp near Allenspark or nearby Olive Ridge for a quieter setup. This site suits those who came specifically for OHV recreation.
