Free dispersed- big rig friendly

This isn't the most beautiful location, there's about 6 spots before this location, however you might need 4wd for those there's a lot of inclination. 2 Restrooms and maybe 4 fire rings. Big rig friendly mu 30ft RV didn't have any issues. Only 2 other people at this location.

Plenty of Options

Went here for Memorial Day weekend and a big portion was closed, but was able to find a big campsite. Nice views of Granby but expect charred trees from controlled burning.

Where is Idleglen Trailhead located and how do I get there?

Idleglen Trailhead Camp is located near Granby, Colorado with views of the area. The road to the trailhead may involve some elevation gain, and while regular vehicles can access the main trailhead area, you might need 4WD to reach some of the camping spots before the main location due to significant inclines. While specific named trails aren't detailed, the trailhead provides entry to routes through the surrounding landscape, which includes areas with controlled burn management. Hikers can expect some charred trees in sections of the trail system as a result of forest management activities. For detailed trail maps and current conditions, check with the local forest service office.

Do I need a permit to park at Idleglen Trailhead?

While specific permit information isn't detailed for Idleglen Trailhead, many forest service trailheads in Colorado require either a day-use fee or display of an annual pass. It's advisable to check with the managing agency (likely the U.S. Forest Service) before your visit to confirm current parking requirements. Overnight camping may have different fee structures than day-use parking. Be prepared with cash or a pass to ensure proper compliance with local regulations.

Is there camping available at Idleglen Trailhead?
