Farnham Spur

Hikers, mountain bikers, and OHV riders all have direct access to trails from Farnham Spur, a dispersed campground sitting at 11,000 feet in the Blue River area of Colorado. Nights get cold at that elevation, so layering is necessary year-round. Multiple fire rings are scattered across the sites, which range from a large open spot near the entrance to smaller, more sheltered positions set back into the trees. A short but steep rise on the access road requires AWD capability. The remnants of a short-lived mining town, including an aerial tramway base, are visible on the grounds.
