Within Pawnee National Grassland, Crow Valley Campground provides Forest Service camping with flat, accommodating sites for both back-in and pull-through setups. The campground handles big rigs well and includes fire pits, picnic tables, and water access for a $17 fee. Reviewers note truck noise from an industrial facility across the road during daytime hours, though activity quiets at night. Sites offer open terrain with minimal natural firewood available on-site.
The campground serves as a staging point for exploring campgrounds near Grover and the surrounding grassland. Cell service reaches the area, and both pets and alcohol are permitted. Trash service and restroom facilities support longer stays for those using the location as a base camp.
Description
As a part of the Crow Valley Recreation Area (CVRA), the Steward J. Adams Education Site was named for an educator who valued the grassland environment. While the Education Site is a great place to observe the night sky, birds, and other wildlife, it can be used for any gathering of up to 100 people. Located at the end of the campground road, the Steward J. Adams Education Site is a tents-only, reservation-only site. Vault toilets are at the site. There is a covered cooking shelter that has electrical outlets and three picnic tables. Parking is available for up to 20 cars/trucks/vans or two buses (each 40’ long); no RVs allowed.
